Simple Ayurveda recommendations to reduce hair fall

  1. 1. Avoid mental stress as much as you can. Stress is one of the most common and basic causes of hair-fall.
  2. 2. Practice meditation and breathing exercises every day. These calm and soothe the nerves of the scalp and brain thereby enhancing blood circulation and strengthening the hair roots ultimately preventing hair fall.
  3. 3. Make sure your diet is well nourished with a considerable amount of protein such as sprouts and soy products, natural fiber, abundant supplement of minerals and vitamins, milk products, butter and cow’s ghee.
  4. 4. Increase intake of water to wash away the toxins accumulated in the body.
  5. 5. Sleep for at least seven hours a day.
  6. 6. Don’t suppress the natural urges of flatus, urine, and stool; it is likely to worsen the malady of hair fall.
  7. 7. If you are constipated, take a mild laxative such as the Triphala.
  8. 8. Restrict the use of salt and sour food in your diet. Too much of salty and sour food also contributes to hair fall.
  9. 9. Excessive washing of hair, using hot water on hair and applying synthetic shampoos and conditioners are harmful for the hair and result in hair-fall.
